Our Beginnings
The Gresham Community Center is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community. Born out of the passion of Kim Ammons & Dwayne Williams Jr. for helping to provide the idea of a better life to the community around them, The Gresham Community Center was founded as a family collective to bring this dream of our founders to fruition. With a keen understanding of the saying "It takes a village to raise a child", we strive to be that village that will nurture and support the youth of Chicago, while also fostering a community for all who face disparities regardless of age.
We began our work in the community in 2016, but since our official founding in 2021, we have been proud to witness how our activities have benefitted the Chicagoland community and beyond.
Our Pillars
Gresham Community Center (GCC) was founded on two unique pillars that are respectively important to both of our founders. Financial Literacy and Delinquency Prevention. These pillars together have the potential to unlock a completely new realm of opportunity for the city of Chicago.
